For most the six match series on Thornhill’s length of the Calder and Hebble canal has been a gruelling five hours each week with some sections being bite less. The recent frosts and cold spells did not help the conditions of the canal. The final match was no different and the top section on pegs 19-25 was won with a single perch!

The final match was won by Tri-casts Kyle Ackroyd who fished his Iconic Pro at 11m, on peg 7, using bloodworm and joker to record a net of 3-08 which consisted of one perch around a 1lb and small roach and perch to build his weight. Others in the frame Frank Szackerly (Matrix Halifax) 2-13, Ben Davies (Tri-cast Calder) 2-12

On the day the pairing of Jim Burke and team captain Ben Davies (both Tri-cast Calder) recorded 10, points out of a possible 12, which was a win good enough to ensure a second place finish over all.
