Anyone that has or has held a Trilogy Pro 2 will certainly know that it would take something special to beat it but the new Excellence Pro has taken Tri-cast poles to a whole new level.
There is significant improvements in terms of its lighter, stiffer, and more responsive. Tri-cast have been developing carbon fibre processes in the Aerospace arm of the company and have transferred these processes to poles. They have been playing around with prototypes for about 15 months now and believe us - if it was not ready and fully field tested the boys at tri-cast would not have released it.
Put the Excellence Pro up against any other flagship pole and it stands out both in terms of performance and value for money; the spares package is fantastic.
This pole offers, included as standard in the package, 3 mini reversible butt sections that are aimed at anglers who slap or fish shallow and need that extra strength and durability.
The top kits from the previous models, Iconic Pro and Trilogy Pro 2, will fit the Excellence Pro but a new mandrel has been used for the remaining sections. So anyone with the previous models can upgrade to the new pole.
The pole can be bought at 14.4m (RRP £2099), 16.1m (RRP £2499) and 17.8m (RRP £2850) and the spares package is enormous
- Match top kit in the pole
- 1 match top 4 kit
- 3 match top 3 kits
- 3 big bore top 2 kits (same length as match top 3)
- 1 short number 3 section
- 3 reversible pole protector mini butts that fit the 4-5, 6-7 & 8-9 sections
- 1 cupping kit with 2 cups
- A super deluxe holdall including tubes, baseball cap and a hand towel
If that package does not suit you can have any top kits you want for example swap match kits for big bore or vice versa or include some of the F1ST kits designed for commercials. Just ask your local dealer to order at your requirements.
Poles are due on tackle shops early March, if your local shop does not have one ask for one or email Tri-cast for the name of a local dealer that has one. You will not be disappointed.
Tight lines,
Tri-cast Calder
